Safe Transport

  • Always use a purpose-built trolley
  • Secure bottle with chain or strap
  • Keep valve cap on during transport
  • Tilt trolley back, don't drag

Storage Requirements

  • Store upright and secured
  • Separate oxygen from fuel gases
  • Minimum 3m separation or firewall
  • Keep away from heat sources

Hazards

  • Falling bottles — crush injuries
  • Valve damage — uncontrolled release
  • Flashback risk if no arrestors
  • Manual handling — use trolley always

AS 4332 — The storage and handling of gases in cylinders. Gas bottles must be transported in an upright position using an approved trolley with securing chain. Never roll, drag, or carry bottles by hand.
